What Is It

• Chiffon is a lightweight, sheer, plain-woven fabric made with high-twist yarns. 

• When made of viscose, the fabric combines the airy, delicate texture of chiffon with the softness and breathability of viscose (a cellulose-based fiber). 

• Chiffons weave creates a slightly puckered, crepe-like effect and gives it a subtly rough feel. 

Key Properties

• Lightweight & Sheer: Very airy, almost translucent, which gives garments a flowing, "floating" look. 

• Soft & Luxurious Hand: Viscose gives it a smooth, soft touch and a gentle drape. 

• Moisture Absorption: Viscose is highly absorbent, making the fabric comfortable even in warm weather. 

• Dyeability: Viscose accepts dyes very well, so chiffon viscose can come in rich, vibrant colors. 

• Breathability: Good airflow due to its lightweight and cellulosic nature. 

• Strength Characteristics: While viscose is strong when dry, it becomes weaker when wet, so the fabric needs careful handling.
